MB Canada RFNOW Full time

Join to apply for the Chief Human Resources Officer role at RFNOW RFNOW Inc. is a dynamic, community-rooted telecommunications provider headquartered in Virden, Manitoba, with operations spanning eastern Saskatchewan and western Manitoba. Founded in 2000, the company has grown from a wireless startup into a critical enabler of digital infrastructure across some of Canada’s most remote and underserved regions. With a deep commitment to closing the digital divide, RFNOW delivers fiber‑grade connectivity supported by a 100% Canadian‑based service model and a growing in‑house construction team hired from the very communities it serves. Strategically positioned at the intersection of local insight and technical innovation, RFNOW continues to expand its footprint while remaining grounded in its entrepreneurial culture and community‑first ethos. In 2022, the company was acquired by DIF Capital Partners, a leading global independent infrastructure fund manager with over $200 billion in assets under management. Since then, along with its sister company, Valley Fiber, over $500 million has been invested with an additional $500 million planned in the coming years. With this organic growth and further M&A expected, this exponential growth is expected to continue and has led to the creation of a new role of Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). Reporting to the CEO, the CHRO will be a core member of the Executive Team and a key architect of RFNOW’s people strategy during a period of accelerated growth. This is a highly influential role, responsible for leading the transformation and growth of the HR function from operational support to strategic business enabler. Overseeing a small team, the CHRO will have a mandate to design and execute scalable HR frameworks in recruitment, performance, leadership development, and employee engagement—ensuring alignment with the company’s evolving organizational structure, culture, and long‑term business goals. The role demands a balance of hands‑on execution and executive‑level advisory, offering the unique opportunity to shape the company’s business and talent strategy and culture as it enters its next phase of expansion. The ideal candidate is an experienced HR executive with a proven track record supporting growth, expansion and the development of a strong, positive, and engaged culture involving employees in multiple geographies. Specific experience with M&A and experience leading the integration of new companies is a significant asset. They bring deep generalist expertise in talent management, succession planning, employee relations, and organizational development, paired with a practical, business‑first mindset. Adept at building high‑performance teams and trusted by executive peers, this leader possesses the communication skills, emotional intelligence, and strategic foresight to influence across functions and levels. Comfortable navigating ambiguity and an entrepreneurial pace, the CHRO must be comfortable playing both a strategic role in the formulation of the HR strategy, as well as a tactical role overseeing a small team in the implementation of programs and projects with limited resources. This is a rare opportunity to help build an organization and a function within a high growth organization with very strong foundations. Based in Manitoba or Saskatchewan, the role offers strategic impact, entrepreneurial autonomy and deep community roots and a chance to make a strategic impact in a high‑growth business.
