Orix Geoscience is a full-cycle geological consulting firm that supports global desktop and Canadian field projects through Data Optimization and Geological Solutions. Offices in Toronto, Sudbury, and Winnipeg. Position Orix is looking for passionate Core Logging and Mapping Field Geologists to join our team for field projects on a 16 Days on, 12 Days off rotation. Qualifications University Degree in Geological Sciences Geologist-in-Training (G.I.T.) designation or greater is required Experience in core logging and/or mapping on a mineral exploration field project is advantageous Valid First Aid Certificate is an asset Superior communication, interpersonal, client service skills, with strong attention to detail and integrity Commitment to health and safety; understanding and adherence to safety protocols; ability to report hazards, near misses, and incidents Ability to work in remote field locations for 2-week periods (16 Days on, 12 Days off) Job Responsibilities Field Work: Support exploration programs related to drill and/or mapping programs including core logging and sampling Ground truthing, mapping, targeting, lining up drill rigs, and professional conduct in various communities/jurisdictions Other Duties: Work alongside, support and/or supervise other colleagues (including student geologists and technicians) Ability to travel to and from remote work sites Any other geological duties as required by the project supervisor Alignment of Personal Values with Orix Culture and Values Orix actively hires and promotes individuals aligned with the company’s O-Code and features behaviours such as Respect, Judgement, Communication, Impact, Curiosity, Innovation, Courage, Passion, Honesty, and Selflessness.
