Organization: Brandon Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation (BNRC)Location: Brandon, MBPosition Type: Full-time, on sitePosting Closes: January 29, 2026 Overview The Brandon Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation (BNRC) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented HIFIS Specialist to support the implementation, maintenance, and expansion of the Homeless Individuals and Families Information System (HIFIS) across Brandon and rural Manitoba. The HIFIS Specialist will provide technical support and training to HIFIS Partner Agencies, ensure data accuracy and integrity, and support compliance with the Personal Health Information Act (PHIA). This role is central to strengthening coordinated data collection, improving service delivery, and supporting evidence-based decision-making within the homelessness-serving system. Key Qualities Outgoing with exceptional communication and relationship-building skills Highly detail-oriented, efficient, and systematic Strong pattern recognition and ability to identify data inconsistencies and errors Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to adjust to different learning styles and manage multiple priorities Comfortable working independently and autonomously Self-motivated and proactive Willing and able to travel to partner agencies in rural Manitoba Strong commitment to confidentiality and ethical data practices Qualifications Post-secondary education in computer science, informatics, statistics, social services, or a related field relevant to the position, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Demonstrated experience developing and delivering training programs related to systems, processes, tools, or protocols Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels Experience delivering training sessions, presentations, and preparing instructional materials for non-technical audiences Experience with HIFIS and knowledge of PHIA requirements considered a strong asset Dependable team member with the ability to learn new systems and processes quickly Key Responsibilities Training & Capacity Building Deliver regular system-wide HIFIS training sessions Schedule and conduct targeted, agency-specific training Develop, maintain, and administer a HIFIS user training and certification program Support onboarding of new programs and users within existing HIFIS Partner Agencies System Support & Data Quality Conduct regular HIFIS data audits to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency Identify data inconsistencies and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and data quality Coordinate with partner agencies to troubleshoot technical issues and resolve data errors Provide new HIFIS users with login credentials in compliance with PHIA and HIFIS policies System Coordination & Expansion Support onboarding of new HIFIS Partner Agencies, ensuring reporting and data requirements are met Expand the HIFIS network through outreach and relationship-building with agencies not yet connected to HIFIS Coordinate with the City of Brandon IT Department and the federal HIFIS team to install updates and resolve system-level technical issues Reporting & Quality Improvement Complete data entry for Built for Zero and the Brandon Progress Tracking Site Submit monthly statistics to support the Homelessness Indicator Project Identify, develop, and implement quality improvement and assurance processes, methods, and analyses Renumerations & Benefits Full time position with up to 37.5 hours per week at a rate of $28 - $30 per hour, depending on qualifications Leave and benefits provided in accordance with the BNRC Personnel Policy Manual Why Work With BNRC?
