Position Mathematics PhD Type Hourly contractor Location Remote Commitment 15–20 hours/week Role Responsibilities Collaborate asynchronously with a team of experts in your domain. Craft, solve, and review challenging problems with real-world applicability. Evaluate and improve AI model performance using domain expertise. Shape model reasoning and elevate training data quality. Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines. Qualifications Master's or PhD in Mathematics from a top US university. Experience coding in Python and MATLAB for projects or research. Field-specific experience in Numerical Linear Algebra, Computational Mechanics, or Computational Finance. High attention to detail. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Excellent proficiency in English. Based in the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, UK, or Australia. Start Date Late December; applications reviewed on a rolling basis. Interview Process Short interview to assess domain expertise. Paid onboarding time for up to 1 hour, including screening and onboarding videos. Compensation & Legal Legally classified as an hourly contractor for Mercor. Paid weekly via Stripe Connect.
