Operate excavators, graders, and loaders across Ontario as a Railway Heavy Equipment Operator supporting construction and maintenance projects. Safety-focused work drives every assignment.
Universal Rail Solutions Inc. seeks an experienced Railway Equipment Operator for full-time, unionized work. You will support railway construction, maintenance, and rehabilitation through equipment operation, track-related activities, inspections, and material handling. The work follows railway rules, OHSA requirements, site plans, and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate excavators, backhoes, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and skid steers
- Perform ballast distribution, grading, ditching, trenching, and material handling
- Complete pre-operational inspections, logbooks, and inspection reports
- Report equipment deficiencies and required maintenance or repairs promptly
- Work safely around workers, equipment, and rail traffic
Requirements:
- Two to five years operating heavy equipment
- Heavy Equipment Operator certification or equivalent hands-on experience
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence
- Ability to read site drawings, grades, stakes, and layouts
- Ability to work outdoors and perform physical duties
