Principal, Enterprise Architect The Principal, Enterprise Architect—reporting to the Leader, Architecture—will be deployed to a Product Line (PL) to support its objectives and guide it on a multi‑year path of modernization and migration. Working directly with the PL leadership and owners, the Architect will ensure the backlog includes what is necessary to modernize and standardize the product and help prioritize related work into release plans that deliver business value and remediate technical debt over time. The role draws on experience in agile transformation and acts as a mentor within the architecture practice and the PL teams. The successful candidate will have deep expertise in designing and delivering cloud‑native product solutions and migrations. Targeting major Cloud Service Providers such as AWS or Azure, you’ll design product architectures that incorporate containerized microservices, event‑driven patterns, and work closely with platform teams on the CI/CD pipelines. Your experience should include translating requirements into resilient architectures with high availability, implementing zero‑trust security models for applications, and optimizing product performance while maintaining cost efficiency at scale. Responsibilities Comprehensive architectural support for a primary Product Line (PL), and a backup PL. Product/application analysis—Domain Driven Design (DDD) preferred. Partnering with PL leadership and owners on backlog population, curation, prioritization, and release planning across multiple squads. Managing architectural requirements in platform backlogs. Identifying and addressing technical debt through strategic remediation planning that balances immediate product needs with long‑term architectural sustainability. Conducting architecture reviews that lead to actionable improvements in security, reliability, performance, and cost optimization. Leading within cross‑functional working groups to identify opportunities for reusable patterns, shared capabilities, and platform standardization that benefit the entire product ecosystem. Curating, incubating, prototyping, and delivering new potentially shared capabilities in partnership with your aligned PL team and others in the architecture practice. Prototyping/POC patterns, creating docs/cookbooks, and executable code. Providing strategic architectural guidance to executive stakeholders and product owners that enables confident decision‑making. Balancing governance with enablement to ensure architectural quality while maintaining product delivery momentum. Qualifications Experience as a practiced Information Technology professional for more than 8 years. At least 5 years of experience on teams delivering and designing software applications. Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full‑time capacity. Recent and in‑depth experience architecting, designing, POCing, prototyping, and testing technology products and/or platforms on cloud platforms (e.g. Microsoft Azure and AWS) and on‑premise. Experience working on online transaction processing solutions with very high availability and resilience expectations.
