Job Title: President and Vice-Chancellor

Location: Prince Edward Island, Canada

The University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader for the position of President and Vice-Chancellor. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to transform this post-secondary institution and drive its positive impact on the province and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the University in achieving its goals and objectives
  • Ensure the effective operation of all aspects of the University, including academic and administrative functions
  • Represent the University to external stakeholders, including government, industry, and community groups
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and the community
  • Provide oversight for the financial management of the University, including developing and monitoring budgets
  • Lead fundraising efforts to ensure the financial sustainability of the University

Qualifications:

  • A PhD or other advanced degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • A minimum of ten years of senior leadership experience in a complex organization, preferably in a post-secondary institution
  • A record of successful strategic planning and implementation
  • A strong commitment to academic excellence and innovation
  • An ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholder groups
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • A proven track record in fundraising and financial management
