Work location: Mississauga, ON (Hybrid, 3 Days in a Week) Job Summary We are seeking a skilled ETL Automation Tester with strong experience in the financial domain to validate large-scale data pipelines and ensure high-quality data delivery. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SQL, solid exposure to Python and PySpark, and a strong understanding of data warehouse concepts. This role requires close collaboration with data engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and execute automated test cases for ETL and data pipeline validation. Validate data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes across multiple data sources and targets. Perform data reconciliation, data completeness, and data accuracy checks using complex SQL queries. Develop and maintain automation frameworks using Python and related tools. Validate PySpark-based transformations in big data environments. Test data flows in data warehouses and data lakes, ensuring schema, business rules, and aggregations are correctly implemented. Perform end-to‑end data validation across source systems, staging, and target layers. Ensure compliance with financial data standards, regulatory requirements, and audit controls. Analyze defects, perform root cause analysis, and work closely with development teams for resolution. Create and maintain test documentation, test plans, and execution reports. Required Skills & Qualifications 8+ years of experience in ETL/Data Testing or Automation Testing roles. Strong experience in the financial domain (Banking, Capital Markets, Risk, Trading, Payments, or Regulatory Reporting). Expert‑level SQL skills for complex queries, joins, aggregations, and performance analysis. Good hands‑on exposure to Python for test automation and data validation. Working knowledge of PySpark for validating big data transformations. Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts (fact/dimension tables, star/snowflake schema, SCDs). Experience testing batch and near‑real‑time data pipelines. Familiarity with data quality frameworks and ETL testing best practices. Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies Nice to Have Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Knowledge of tools such as Databricks, Snowflake Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and test automation integration. Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder interaction abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast‑paced environments. Attention to detail and a strong focus on data accuracy.
