Position Overview The Quantity Surveyor will provide expertise in cost control, contract administration, and change management. This role is responsible for measuring, valuing, and reporting on project costs, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, and supporting the project team in achieving budgetary and financial objectives. Key Responsibilities Preparing, reviewing, and updating project cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts. Conducting quantity take-offs, measurement, and valuation of works in accordance with project specifications and standards. Supporting the preparation, submission, and negotiation of progress claims, variations, and change orders. Reviewing subcontractor and supplier quotations, claims, and invoices for accuracy and alignment with contract terms. Monitoring project expenditures and assessing cost impacts of design changes, schedule adjustments, and unforeseen conditions. Maintaining detailed records of all commercial and contractual correspondence. Assisting in the preparation of monthly cost and progress reports for internal and client review. Supporting risk management processes by identifying potential cost and contractual risks. Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure alignment between financial tracking and project delivery. Providing input into final account preparation and project closeout documentation. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Professional membership or working toward accreditation (e.g., PQS, MRICS, CIQS) considered an asset. 5+ years of experience in quantity surveying or cost management, preferably on major infrastructure or transit projects. Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., CCDC, P3, design-build). Proficiency with cost management software, estimating tools, and MS Office Suite (Excel in particular). Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary project environment.
