Civil Engineer-in-Training, Municipal Engineering Whitehorse, YT, Canada Job Description The opportunity WSP is currently seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our Municipal Engineering Team in our Whitehorse office. As a Civil EIT, you will provide support to intermediate and senior level civil engineers on a wide variety of projects throughout the region of Northern British Columbia and the Yukon Territory. Our professionals will provide mentoring and opportunity to develop in a variety of civil and municipal practice areas. The position will involve significant time out of town on field assignment during the construction season. This is a Whitehorse, Yukon based position. Coordinate the preparation of drawings required for approvals, prepare development and construction cost estimates. Contribute to the cost effective, proper and timely production of engineering designs, that meet all client and approval agency requirements and standards. Coordinate with other team members to ensure schedules, budgets and quality control standards are achieved. Provide project management and construction contract administration services for municipal, First Nation, provincial, and federal projects as required. Construction services including site inspection and contract administration on projects, including travel. Surveying using GPS RTK equipment, robotic total stations, and survey levels. Drafting using Civil 3D. Attending design meetings with clients, other consultants, and contractors. Writing design reports. Site investigations. What you'll bring to WSP ... An undergraduate degree in civil engineering from an accredited university. 2-5 years of experience in a consulting environment on municipal design projects will be an asset. Experience with MS Office suite, especially Microsoft Word and Excel. Eligibility for registration with Engineers Yukon is required. Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D 2017 or later. Previous success in customer services, client management and proposal/report writing is an asset. Strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and teamwork skills. A Yukon Class 5 driver's license and a clean Driver’s Abstract. Willingness to work remotely in Yukon communities for 2-3 weeks at a time.
