Executive Director (ED) Job posted by Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary (SNJM), Longueuil, Quebec. The Executive Director will oversee the General Administration Office, collaborating with the Congregational Leadership Team. Job Profile and Posting The SNJM mission promotes development of the human person through education, social justice, contemplation and the arts. The Congregational Leadership Team is seeking a creative Executive Director for their 12‑person office. Position The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing General Administration, collaborating with the CLT, implementing changes, and ensuring deep knowledge of Catholic religious roles, SNJM history, values, and current realities. Supervision Works collaboratively with the CLT and reports directly to the Congregational Leader. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Leadership: Participate with CLT in developing vision and strategic plan; identify and inform internal/external issues; advise on civil and canon law; foster teamwork; represent CLT in community activities; maintain membership in finance and legal groups. Planning and Management: Develop operational plan; oversee day‑to‑day operations; coordinate monthly Staff Collaboration meetings; ensure policies are followed; oversee planning, implementation and evaluation of changes. Human Resources: Determine staffing requirements; recruit, interview, select, orient new staff; create a positive work environment; implement HR policies and procedures; performance management; supervise staff; manage salary scale and Pay Equity Law reporting; advise on personnel issues. Financial and Material Resources: Ensure comprehensive annual budget; internal controls; bookkeeping and accounting; fund administration; monthly/quarterly cash‑flow review; compliance with charitable legislation; oversee investments and ESG principles; manage rental agreement; monitor contracted services; identify and evaluate risks; insure coverage. Qualifications Education: Bilingual French/English with excellent writing and speaking; Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management or similar; or MBA. Experience: 5+ years in HR, finance, or project management with increasing administrative responsibilities; collaborative style; knowledge of federal/provincial charity legislation; leadership in non‑profits or religious institutes; ability to build relationships regionally/internationally; knowledge of emerging technology; respect for SNJM values; familiarity with Canon Law desirable. Personal Characteristics: Strong leadership, well organized, good planner, adaptable, high ethical standards, builds collegial relationships, good communicator, creative, fosters teamwork.
