System Engineer

Our client located in the Etobicoke area is looking for a passionate System Engineer to support and improve their current infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be subject matter expert within Microsoft 365 as well as has strong experience in PowerShell scripting. - Plan and maintain the Microsoft 365 tenant. Key areas of focus include; standardized processes, workflow automation, cybersecurity, IAM, storage management, etc.
- Manage cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS) components matching resources and availability to business requirements. Monitor usage for optimization opportunities.
- Plan and maintain a Meraki based wide area network covering 20 unique sites. Coordinate and manage the Network Managed Service Provider to ensure optimal network operation as well the delivery of new functions arising from project activity.
- Plan and maintain tablet (IOS, android) end point inventory. Define the acquisition, registration and retirement processes and implement using MDM.
- Plan and maintain DNS entries. Ensure DNS configuration efficiently resolves resources. Review and configure DNS as necessary to maintain highest reputational ratings – this client uses multiple services for outbound messaging to employees, members and prospects.
- Develop and implement standardized technology model for all Clubs. This will include; laptop and desktop workstations, POS devices, VOIP systems/hardware, CCTV cameras and recorders, audio/visual systems, specialized network attached fitness equipment, and building access. Ensure proper network modelling to isolate and prioritize traffic.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems. For major system disruptions, act as an Incident Manager, engage resources to identify and resolve disruptions. Provide timely updates to stakeholders and Leadership and escalate as required.
- Incorporate a cybersecurity mindset managing the I&O scope. Define and implement reporting and alert mechanisms.
- Define and implement a Release and Change Management process. Plan and review proposed system changes. Work with MSP and other software vendors to ensure MOVATI system integrity is not compromised.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- 10+ years of infrastructure design, delivery and management
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Admin, Exchange, Entra, Intune), Azure, and PC OS
- Excellent knowledge of PowerShell scripting. Use cases include; Microsoft 365 administration, data integration flows, and recurring administrative tasks
- Excellent knowledge of DNS configuration and management
- Relevant certifications for Microsoft 365, Azure cloud and Cisco gear
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
