YOUR IMPACT As a Principal Data Architect, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the future of OpenText’s data ecosystem at an enterprise scale. In this highly visible role, you’ll influence how data is designed, governed, and leveraged across the organization—powering advanced analytics, AI-driven innovation, and smarter business decisions. You’ll work closely with senior leaders and technical experts, balancing strategic direction with hands‑on architectural leadership, while helping build modern, secure, and scalable data platforms that support OpenText’s long‑term growth. What This Role Offers You The chance to design and own end-to-end enterprise data architectures that support analytics, reporting, and operational excellence across a complex global environment. A leadership role in modernizing data platforms, including cloud migrations, data lakes, and the integration of AI and data science capabilities. The opportunity to define architectural roadmaps, standards, and patterns that align with enterprise strategy and influence technology decisions at scale. Close collaboration with business, IT, and data teams—allowing you to translate business needs into impactful technical solutions. The ability to set best practices in data modeling, metadata management, data lineage, and data quality, raising the bar across the organization. Strategic ownership of large-scale initiatives such as data integration, warehousing, and platform optimization. Partnership with cybersecurity and compliance teams to ensure secure, compliant, and privacy-focused data solutions. A platform to mentor and develop technical talent, sharing your expertise and fostering a culture of architectural excellence. What You’ll Bring To Be Successful A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience); an MBA or advanced degree is an asset. 15+ years of experience across IT and business environments, with deep expertise in enterprise data architecture and systems lifecycle management. A proven track record of designing and executing enterprise data strategies in complex, multi-technology environments. Strong expertise in data modeling, database design, and data warehousing. A strategic mindset with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, focused on performance, scalability, and resilience. The ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and influence stakeholders at all levels. A passion for continuous learning, with curiosity around emerging trends in data architecture, AI, and digital transformation.
