Software Engineer

Requirements:

• 2-5 years Java development (Intermediate Level)

• 2+ years Web UI development (eg: JavaScript/AngularJS/Jenkins)

• 1+ years in containerization

• Experience in Secure Software Development Lifecycle processes and security artifacts (eg: threat model)

• Experience in developing implementation requirements from customer requirements and needs.

• Experience with containerization and container orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Ability to understand issues reported by security tools (static code/app analyzers/Software Composition Analysis tools, PEN testing tools, etc) and fixing them by co-relating to source code

• Understanding of Bash/Shell scripting (Linux environment).

• Understanding SQL and NoSQL Databases (e.g: MySql, Postgres, Mongo)

• Experience working with messaging technologies (preferably RabbitMQ/Kafka)

• Experience handling UI application development and following HUE guidelines.

• Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and tools such as Jenkins and Git.

Good to Have skills:

• Knowledge on GIS (Geoserver/Open Street maps/Google Earth).

• Knowledge Elastic stack (Elastic Search, Kibana)

• Good to have Active participation in open source and github community groups to post queries and obtain responses

• Experience on SCALA is a plus

• Experience with Agile methodologies

Other attributes that are required to handle the role:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.

• Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices.

• Experience collaborating with a global team.

• Effective communicator

• Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events

• Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident, willing to work from Ottawa Office
