Identity Engineering owns the systems responsible for onboarding all consumers and managing their authentication and verification journeys across Affiliate’s product surfaces. In this role, you will gain a deep understanding of the business, product and engineering context, and use that context to own and deliver high‑availability and low‑latency systems on the critical paths for all of our products.

What You’ll Do Break down larger projects into individual tasks, deliver them in multiple phases, and collaborate with others to ensure timely delivery. Support peers and stakeholders in the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design and analytics, articulating technical constraints, and partnering on decisions that consider risks and trade‑offs. Support the operations and availability of your team’s artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and participating in on‑call efforts. Contribute to a sense of community on your team by engaging in growth and development activities such as interviewing candidates.

What We Look For 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer.

Experience

designing, developing and launching backend systems and proficiency in either Python or Kotlin. Familiarity with the building blocks of distributed systems and technologies such as AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes. Ability to transform a simple problem or business scenario into a solution that interacts with multiple components, writing clear, well‑tested and extensible code. Comfort navigating a large code base, debugging others’ code and providing constructive feedback through code reviews.

Ownership of personal growth and proactive feedback seeking from team, manager and stakeholders. Strong verbal and written communication skills that support effective collaboration with a global engineering team. Equivalently practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Pay & Benefits Pay Grade – LEquity Grade – 5 Base pay range: $125,000 – $175,000 per year Monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, plus benefits including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.
