These workers would be independent from RespiteServices.com while creating a working relationship with families in need of support. Key Responsibilities : Provide safe, stimulating and recreational support both in the home and in the community. Provide care and supervision according to the individuals’ needs. Provide respite / support services as requested by the parent / guardian. Be punctual, reliable and respectful of the family. Network with community groups, facilitate inclusion and act as a positive role model. Requirements : Ability and willingness to work with persons with disabilities. Ability to work on your own. Experience providing care and support to persons with disabilities. Access to a vehicle is an asset. Effective communication skills with both verbal and non-verbal populations. Commitment to providing quality life experiences in home and in the community. Provide a current Vulnerable Sector Screening Police Check (not older than 6 months). Provide 2 References. First Aid and CPR is an asset. Hours of Work : Variable hours (before school, mornings, afternoons, after-school, evenings, overnight, weekends, summer). Working hours are negotiated between worker and family. Part-time, and / or Full-time.
