The Proposal Manager will be responsible for the development, production, and formal submission of Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), Request for Proposals (RFPs), and other required content such as Market Sounding responses and Expressions of Interests (EOIs) for major project pursuits identified by Aecon’s executive team. What You'll Do Here Manage and oversee Aecon’s formal submissions in response to RFQs, RFPs, EOIs, and Market Sounding proposals. Lead major proposal pursuits where Aecon is the lead partner in a joint venture (JV) partnership. Manage Aecon submission responses when an Aecon JV partner is the pursuit lead. Schedule and lead proposal/bid meetings. Coordinate input from partners and internal stakeholders. Handle documents throughout the proposal/bid process via Aecon’s portal or a JV partner’s repository. Provide regular status reports. Manage project pursuit schedules and resource assignments. Oversee and manage assigned Proposal Coordinators. Train, mentor, and develop non‑management proposal team members. Prepare presentations, executive summaries, and reports. Package and deliver final proposal/bid submissions on time. Travel as required to collaborate with JV partners. Coordinate with Aecon’s graphic design team for proposal material. Review and develop a detailed understanding of client requirements. Create proposal calendars, responsibility matrices, and templates. Write, edit, and format proposal sections, resumes, and project sheets. Support additional content development with subject matter experts. Track and ensure timely deliverables from internal and external partners. Perform compliance checks on all submittal documents. Organize team reviews for the project team. Ensure binders, USBs, tabs, covers, and other required materials are ordered and available. Print, bind, and deliver final bid submissions if required. Manage client data on SharePoint sites. Attend pre‑bid meetings and post‑bid debriefs, summarizing results and lessons learned. Operate in a deadline‑driven environment. Allocate approximately 70% of time to reading, writing, editing, and formatting, and 30% to organizational activities. What You Bring To The Team Experience in major Canadian and U.S. proposal submissions. Strong knowledge and experience in the construction industry. Minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Construction. Demonstrated leadership and accountability with strong interpersonal skills. Advanced oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint). Proficiency in Adobe InDesign is an asset. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in teams. Excellent time‑management skills with the ability to plan, manage, and prioritize multiple assignments. Ability to synthesize and present technical information for diverse audiences. Experience working in a fast‑paced, performance‑driven setting. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Strong decision‑making skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
