RCN Call Center Services is looking for a Data Analyst to join our Analytics team. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Analytics, the Data Analyst will work with the business to understand new data sources, assess data quality, build critical reports, and perform ad hoc analyses. This person is quantitatively driven, detail-focused, with excellent inter-personal skills to deliver timely and accurate analyses. This person will work closely with Risk, Marketing, Product managers to identify trends and help growing the business influencing data driven decision making. The role will involve ad hoc reporting and analysis as well as recurring reporting depending on business needs. Specific responsibilities Extract data from primary and secondary data sources, review, analyze data, interpret, and summarize key information to help identify trends and insights using statistical techniques. Build, execute, and test SQL queries. Support ad hoc analyses, as requested by various business functions. Possess exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills to effectively collaborate with a multifunctional team, communicate business scope and train stakeholders where needed. Build statistical models to improve business processes such as scorecards and decision trees in Python. Research statistical methods that can be used to improve modeling results in the company. Skills and Qualifications Bachelor’s or Graduate degree from an accredited college or university, preferably with a degree in mathematics, statistics, or computer science. 2-4+ years of experience in reporting, data analysis, and strategy development in the financial services industry. Proven experience using SQL to perform queries to analyze, extract and validate data. Experience with data visualization and reporting tools such as Microsoft Power BI. Experience building machine learning models. Experience in Python. Proven ability to effectively analyze and interpret large amounts of raw data. Proficient with MS Office applications: Excel, MS Project, Visio, Word, and PowerPoint. Soft Skills Sound judgment and decision-making with a curious nature. Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to draw conclusions and provide explanations and make recommendations based on analysis. Strong work ethic, curious and persistent determination in reviewing and reconciling variances. Highly organized and detail oriented. Able to multitask across several projects. Self-sufficient, able to solve basic questions and problems using readily available resources. Ability to produce deliverables accurately and on time with minimal supervision. Willingness and ability to continually improve processes and document procedures for producing deliverables. Organizational skills and time management skills; planning and project management, and ability to meet multiple deadlines. Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
