Successful applicants will enjoy a competitive salary, medical and dental benefits, a defined benefit pension plan, relocation privileges and opportunities for training and career advancement.Reporting to the Territorial Health Education Manager, the Clinical Nurse Educator works with nursing service managers to identify nursing competencies in all areas of nursing services (medical, surgical, pediatric, obstetric, emergency, ambulatory, operating room nursing services), assisting managers with the assessment of nursing practices, identify learning need providing clinical expertise, and teaching and/or coordinating teaching orientation to nursing staff at Qikiqtani General Hospital.The Clinical Nurse Educator ensures that the hospital nurses are well oriented to their work, that they identify continuing learning needs, develop the required skills and certification to provide competent care to all patients, and that nursing students have quality learning experience while contributing positively to the care of patients. Any learning opportunity provided to the nurses that would be of value to other Health and Social Services staff is also open to other staff. The orientation of the cultural and clinical needs of hospital patients helps to ensure the quality of practice of new practitioners.The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent, with several years of broad-based nursing experience. Recognized advanced nursing skills in obstetrics, pediatrics, and critical care/emergency nursing. Experience in training in an adult learning setting, new nurse orientation program, internship, or mentoring programs would be considered an asset. Candidates must be eligible to register with CANNN.This is a Highly Sensitive Position and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check is required.Please note that COVID-19 vaccination is a mandatory condition of employment.
