Overview:


Our client is a leading supplier of electrical products and services for the oil and gas, mining, commercial, and utility industries. Due to continued growth, they require the services of an Electrical Project Estimator for a full time, permanent position in Calgary, AB. Experience in a manufacturing environment is mandatory for this role.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for the estimating of our client's manufactured products which includes coordinating with engineering and design, purchasing, quality and management to produce an accurate quotation.
  • Estimating tasks include, but are not limited to, the following: Review of specifications to ensure technical design requirements are met in proposal submittals
  • Estimate (material take off and labour)
  • Work with our client's purchasing department to obtain quotations from vendors and contractors
  • Communication with clients through sales to ensure the requirements are met
  • Creation of proposal documents, and scheduling of proposal review for client submittal
  • Completing proposals based on timeline requirements ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Responsible for engaging all required team members
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned to ensure our client's goals and objectives are met
  • Perform all duties to meet the responsibilities listed in our client's Safety and Human Resources Policy Manual
  • Perform duties according to our client's quality system procedures and work instructions


Qualifications:


  • 2+ years of experience in Electrical Manufacturing, specifically Switchgear, Substations and PDU products.
  • Technologist Diploma, Electrical Engineering Technologist (EET) or equivalent an asset
  • Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) an asset
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical specifications
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks in order to meet firm deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Mathematical competency
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (English)
  • Experience in an industrial capacity with a notable willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Active and energetic team player interested in furthering their experience within a manufacturing environment
