Location: Mississauga, ON

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate at a strategic level monitoring, assessing, interpreting, highlighting, and reporting on the fiscal performance of the PCH with respect to resource utilization, expenditure patterns, statistical and critical indicator data, and the meeting of budgetary targets. Where appropriate, the Senior Financial Analyst recommends corrective action to members of the executive team
  • Prepare multi-year Business and Operational plans and, annual budgets and forecasts
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department Directors to create detailed budgets for staffing, medical supplies, facility maintenance, and other operational expenses
  • Monitor and report on variances between actual and budgeted expenses, providing insights into cost drivers
  • Develop and prepare complex financial models, including sensitivity analysis, scenario analysis, and analyze trends in resident demographics, healthcare costs, budget modeling incorporating factors such as occupancy rates, government funding, and healthcare reimbursement mechanisms.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field Undergraduate Degree in Accounting and Finance
  • Master’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration or equivalent experience preferred
  • Strong preference for Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA/CGA/CMA) or working towards the designation
  • Minimum 5+ years of Extensive experience in financial analysis within the healthcare or long-term care industry
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and proficiency with Adaptive , Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Ceridian Dayforce are an advantage
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations, accounting principles, and industry best practices
