We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatristto join our integrated mental health team at HMP Askham Grange. HMPAskham Grange is an open category D female prison based in Askham Richard, near York, housing around 120 women. You will be joining an established and experienced team, supporting women aged 18 plus, the site also includes a mother and baby unit. This role has a low volume of patients requiring Psychiatrist support which will enable you to provide consistent and high quality patient care. Hours 1 day per month / 8 hours to be worked between Monday-Friday, 8.30am - 4.30pm Job summary UNLOCK YOUR BEST WORK LIFE + MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO EVERY LIFE Salary This position is a part time role, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £196,736 per annum FTE - depending on experience. How will we support you? You will be part of a team of 20 plus experienced and supportive Consultant psychiatrists You will be able to attend monthly Consultant's meeting and 1:1 clinical supervision. Main duties of the job As a Consultant Psychiatrist, your responsibilities will vary. You will Provide excellent clinical care, assessment and treatment to patients on the case load onsite Actively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead the senior mental health clinicians on service developments and provide clinical supervision Work within the multi-disciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi professional complex case reviews. Qualifications required Registered professional with current registration (GMC) Specialist Registration in either General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry Approved under section 12 (2) of the MHS 1983 Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working Up to date knowledge in the adult psychiatry and PD Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy and legislation Secure environments are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work. Job description As a psychiatrist you will provide excellent clinical care, assessment and treatment to patients on the case load in HMP. You will also; Provide expert clinical advice and outstanding evidence based care, listening and acting on patient feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them. You will also provide supervision of the day to day delivery of mental health therapies and lead on development of clinical practice and the implementation of the mental health pathway. Deliver non-judgemental care by leading the team to deliver care that is safe, high quality, patient centred whilst meeting CQC requirements following our policies, procedures and always considering safeguarding. Inspire excellence in your colleagues by pro-actively leading and motivating the team recognising that our workforce is our most valuable asset. You will provide professional leadership to ensure we provide a service that people can trust, feel safe within and feel proud of.
