Medical Physicist Status: Full Time (x1) Dept/Health System: Carlo Fidani Regional Cancer Centre - Medical Physics Site: Credit Valley Hospital Posted: December 8, 2025 Until Filled We are seeking a permanent, full‐time Medical Physicist to join the medical physics team at the Carlo Fidani Regional Cancer Centre (CFRC) in Credit Valley Hospital. The CFRC is a high‑volume, high‑quality radiation oncology program teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Toronto. The successful candidate will collaborate with the clinical, education, and research teams to support all clinical and technical aspects of the medical physics program. Opportunity The CFRC treats more than 4,000 patients per year using five Varian TrueBeam linacs, two CT simulators, and a state‑of‑the‑art brachytherapy suite. Expansion plans include two Varian Halcyons, a Varian Ethos 2.0, and an Xstrahl 200 orthovoltage machine. The department comprises 12 physicists and several allied staff and offers a CAMPEP‑accredited residency. Responsibilities Acceptance and commissioning of new equipment. Chart checking and quality assurance for all treatment modalities. Support treatment planning and delivery, including the use of Varian Eclipse and Citrix platforms. Teach clinical and technical topics to trainees and medical staff. Lead or participate in research and development initiatives within the department. Maintain academic appointment through UTDRO when required. Qualifications MSc or PhD in Medical Physics. Successful completion of a CAMPEP accredited residency training program in Radiation Oncology Physics. Membership in the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine (CCPM) or equivalent within two years of entering the position. Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Satisfactory attendance and performance required.
