Join Arcadis as a Structural Engineer in our Toronto West office. Arcadis is the world's leading company delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets. Role description Our Structural Team is seeking a Senior or Intermediate Structural Engineer to develop and manage projects in transportation, water & wastewater, commercial, industrial, power, and institutional buildings & structures, ensuring conformance with building codes. Responsibilities include foundation & structural and seismic analysis, building and structural inspections, and coordination with other disciplines across Arcadis offices worldwide. Role accountabilities Lead the structural analysis & design of structures and the preparation of drawings and specifications Carry out seismic analysis, seismic design, and seismic performance assessment Coordinate with other design disciplines (Architecture, Electrical, Mechanical, etc.) Attend meetings and prepare presentations when required Prepare bid documentation for project pursuits Conduct periodic site reviews to ensure construction complies with design intent and codes Review and respond to submittals (RFI's, shop drawings, etc.) during CA phase Provide direction to and work with Engineering & CAD staff Provide peer reviews of other engineers’ work Mentorship to Jr. Engineers Perform QA/QC activities Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s in Structural Engineering is an asset Minimum 6 years relevant experience in structural design Registered P. Eng. in Ontario province; registration in other provinces is an asset Knowledge of Canadian design standards and codes; knowledge of US codes is an asset Ability to lead teams of engineers and CAD staff Proficiency in structural design software such as ETABS, SAFE, Robot, SAP2000 Experience with Microsoft Office and software such as Bluebeam Knowledge of 3D BIM (REVTIT & Navisworks) is an asset Strong project management and coordination skills; collaborative attitude Effective communication in English (verbal & written) Excellent work ethic and desire to succeed Why Arcadis?
