Position Summary

Nutrablend Foods is seeking a Formulation Scientist to support the Research & Development team.


Responsibilities

•      Support product development activities including product formulation, organoleptic evaluations, and generating nutrition information, allergen statements, and ingredient declarations

•      Ensure product development activities are conducted in accordance with company quality procedures and applicable regulations

•      Manage sample and documentation requests with lab and suppliers for new ingredients, organize documentation

•      Collaborate with laboratory technologists and oversee execution of bench top sample creation

•      Source new raw materials, evaluate technical documentation and ensure all raw materials meet company requirements

•      Ensure that priorities and deliverables are in alignment with company’s objectives. Take a strategic approach to formulation in effort to support cost saving initiatives and manufacturing efficiency


Qualifications


•     1-2 years of relevant industry experience, background in nutraceutical/supplement industry is an asset

•     Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutritional/Nutraceutical Science or Food Science or equivalent combination of experience and education required

•     Excellent project management skills, and ability to manage a large volume of projects through the product development lifecycle

•     Self-motivated, highly organized, with incredible attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

•     Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross functional teams

•     Knowledge of ingredients, nutrition, calculation of nutritional data, CFIA and FDA regulations in the Dietary Supplements category considered an asset

•     Good practical knowledge of GMP, HACCP and Food Safety

•     Practical experience of Genesis (Nutrition Software) would be considered an asset

•     Practical experience of SAP or other ERP systems would be considered an asset

•     Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information as well as high level of accuracy with information

•     Must be able to travel monthly to production facility located in Lancaster, NY (access to car and valid passport are essential)
