FACULTY POSITION Assistant or Associate Professor School of Physical Therapy The Faculty of Health Sciences at Western University invites applications for appointment of an Assistant (probationary tenure-track) or Associate (tenured) Professor in the School of Physical Therapy with academic responsibilities in research, teaching and service in the area of practice of Upper Extremity Health and Rehabilitation. Qualified applicants must have a PhD or equivalent in a related field and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario, with post-doctoral research experience considered an asset. Applicants will have expertise and a strong record of achievement in research related to upper extremity health and rehabilitation relative to their career stage. The successful applicant will establish and maintain an externally-funded research program, teach in the Advanced Health Care Practice Upper Extremity Rehabilitation field and the Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) Program within the School of Physical Therapy, and supervise graduate students in the Faculty of Health Sciences graduate programs. The successful applicant will also have a demonstrated capacity to contribute substantively to an inclusive and diverse academic community. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The effective date of the appointment is July 1, 2026, or as negotiated. The School of Physical Therapy is a research-intensive unit with innovative professional and graduate programs. The Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) program at Western is dedicated to being internationally recognized for excellence, leadership and innovation in Physical Therapy education, practice, and research through dedicated clinical, academic, research and professional partnerships. Physical Therapy research aligns well with Faculty and University strategic investments, including Western’s Bone and Joint Institute and Western Institute for Neuroscience. The School has three research Chairs and has strong clinical and academic partners within the London community with international recognition for research. The applicant will have the opportunity to collaborate within The Roth | McFarlane Hand and Upper Limb Centre (HULC) - a world-renowned centre of excellence in education and research focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of patients with complex neuromusculoskeletal conditions affecting hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders situated within St Joseph’s Health Care Centre.
