We are seeking a DevOps/FinOps Engineer (Remote position in Canada - East Coast hours) to join our team in Toronto, Ontario (CA-ON), Canada. This is a fully remote position in Canada. What you’ll do includes designing, implementing, and maintaining Microsoft Azure solutions, focusing on security, configuration management, and tooling, with emphasis on FinOps and cost management. You will work with Azure, Terraform, and CI/CD tooling, and provide specialist support for security and cost optimization. Responsibilities Design and deploy Azure landing zones for secure, scalable cloud environments Build and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps Create and deliver FinOps reports and dashboards to monitor cloud spend and usage Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize cloud performance and cost Implement tagging, budgeting, and cost allocation strategies aligned with FinOps principles Principal Accountabilities Strong SME knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Terraform Design, deploy, and manage Microsoft Azure solutions with focus on performance, security, and scalability Manage CI/CD pipelines Ensure reliability and performance of critical infrastructure components Collaborate with IT teams to streamline deployment processes, configurations, and compliance Monitor and optimize pipeline configurations to provide real-time visibility into network performance Stay informed about the latest Azure, Terraform, and FinOps best practices Participate in evaluation and selection of new technologies to enhance capabilities Knowledge of cloud, server, and networking principles for enterprise environments Evaluate, engineer, test, recommend, and implement secure infrastructures Provide escalation support and document platform standards and processes Gather business requirements for system design and validate solutions for Change Management Schedule and coordinate installation and maintenance of cloud resources to ensure a stable, secure environment Perform root cause analysis on failed components and implement corrective measures Provide ongoing information to leadership, customers, and peers regarding enhancements and solutions Follow company-specific systems engineering standards Executive support for technical escalations RCA for high-severity issues and deployments during weekends/holidays On-call support as required, including weekends Provide technical documentation on DevOps/FinOps processes and training to L2/L3 engineers Support internal and external projects Technical/Professional Requirements Prior experience with Azure and Terraform in a security-focused organization Experience with complex testing and analysis of cloud resources Ability to analyze and propose innovative solutions in system engineering and design Represent the organization in front of clients/customers/vendors/executives Strong understanding of customer business needs and expectations Exceptional customer service, problem solving, and communication skills Technical depth to communicate with development teams and non-technical stakeholders Ability to work independently and with a global team of engineers Strong team player with good organizational and documentation skills Fast learner, flexible, and able to manage multiple tasks What You Bring 5+ years in DevOps or cloud engineering Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Proficiency in Terraform and Azure DevOps Solid understanding of FinOps and cloud cost management tools Scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python) Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field 5–10 years of relevant professional experience or equivalent Proven experience as an Azure Engineer with Terraform and DevOps expertise In-depth knowledge of Azure cloud services, architecture, and best practices Proficiency in configuration management Familiarity with Azure monitoring and performance management Strong scripting and automation skills for deployments Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with teamwork ability Ability to work a 24x7 on-call shift, aligned with Canadian Eastern Time Bonus Points Azure certifications (AZ-400, AZ-104, AZ-305) Experience with Power BI or other reporting tools Background in finance or cloud billing analysis #AzureDevOps #Terraform #FinOps #CloudInfrastructure #Hiring #DevOpsJobs #AzureJobs #TechCareers This position requires a valid Canadian Security Clearance.
