As part of our Product Innovation team, our Manager, Product Development – R&D will lead early-stage research and development initiatives to drive innovation and product advancement. You are a collaborative and results-driven leader with deep technical expertise and a passion for creating cutting-edge consumer products. You will guide a multidisciplinary team and ensure seamless cross-functional collaboration to support Pure Sunfarms’ innovation strategy and growth. Lead early-stage R&D projects including concept development, feasibility studies, prototyping, and validation to ensure timely progress of product initiatives. Manage the product development team, supporting project delivery and team growth. Coordinate collaboration across packaging, material science, chemical science, research, lab, and engineering teams to optimize product prototyping and performance. Work with product developers and application engineers to refine formulations and technical specifications. Support process mapping, documentation, and compliance for R&D workflows. Apply CPG industry knowledge to ensure product development meets market and manufacturing needs. Work status Onsite: This is an on-site role, working in or supporting operations and collaborating with cross-functional teams across the business. Your Story We’d love to learn more about your strengths and how you can contribute to Pure Sunfarms’ product development. Your Experience PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or a related technical discipline. Minimum 7 years in R&D within the CPG industry, including product development and formulation management. Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams. Your Approach & Strengths Deep technical knowledge and ability to lead innovation projects. Strong process orientation with skills in documentation and process mapping. Collaborative communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Ability to translate technical findings into actionable product development insights. Must have the ability to maintain and pass an RCMP criminal record check and obtain a security clearance.
