From character and level design to competitive gameplay and system design, help shape the future of interactive entertainment at Epic. What You’ll Do Epic Games is looking for a Design Director to define and drive the design vision for a broad‑reaching multiplatform LEGO experience. In this role, you’ll lead a team to prototype fast, find the fun, and build on that foundation through liveops and data‑informed design. You’ll partner with product, UX/UI, and community teams to understand player motivations and create experiences that resonate across a wide audience. Above all, you’ll champion a collaborative, ambitious culture that pushes design quality and player joy to new heights. Own, drive, and collaborate with stakeholders on the design vision for a broad-reaching multiplatform experience Nurture a collaborative and ambitious creative environment that gets the best out of the team and sets the bar for quality Drive fast, iterative prototyping to find core fun, and then refine and expand on that foundation with liveops principles and data‑informed design Work with product, UX/UI, and community teams to better understand audience behaviour and serve the needs/aspirations of a wide audience Help push the craft of design forward across the team What We’re Looking For 10+ years of experience shipping multiple titles as a hands‑on game designer, design leader, and gameplay inventor Strong interest in the LEGO brand, lifestyle games, and player‑first mobile gaming Extensive experience blending open‑ended fun with engagement and cadence solutions that give players long‑term goals and meaningful shared experiences Demonstrated talent for empathizing with players and a deep understanding of player motivations, forms of play, and the effects of goal setting on play Technical skill in designing and prototyping design features to test fun and iterate as fast as possible alongside skilled programming and art teams Player‑focused, solution‑seeking, and passionate problem‑solving, always looking for a way to make things more fun EPIC JOB + EPIC BENEFITS = EPIC LIFE We pay 100% for benefits for both employees and dependents and offer coverage for supplemental medical, dental, vision, critical illness, telemedicine, Life and AD&D, long term disability insurance as well as weekly indemnity (short term disability) and a retirement savings plan with a competitive employer match.
