This position is an existing vacancy within the organization. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) reports to the Director, Medical, in the The MSL is a trained healthcare professional whose primary role is to act as a conduit of scientific information between the Company and the medical community The MSL must remain current on clinical and scientific knowledge, and must be able to communicate complex medical and scientific concepts to a broad range of audiences The MSL is responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with researchers and other thought leaders and providing scientific support for Company products under the biopharmaceutical portfolio. The MSL must maintain scientific expertise and knowledge of clinical applications of company products, medical treatment guidelines, and research methods. The MSL is responsible for conducting in-depth 1:1 medical scientific interactions with thought leaders (KOLs); implementation scientific exchange meetings & journal club discussions to gain insights on therapeutic area and related treatments. The MSL is also expected to collaborate with other departments as needed. In this capacity the MSL is expected to manage the territory for scientific activities & KOL engagements. Establishes and maintains scientific relationships with academic researchers, physicians and other clinicians to provide scientific support and ensure the safe and effective use of Company products Is the advocate for their scientific community and KOLs Attends academic rounds, journal clubs, regional, national and international conferences to keep abreast with therapeutic indication and treatment Executes scientific exchange meetings, journal clubs, and scientific consultancy meetings Provides appropriate scientific support to KOLs to ensure that accurate information related to company products are communicated in abstracts, presentations, papers and journal articles prepared by the researchers Carries out engagement with KOLs by providing fair balanced scientific information Supports research related activities such as non-registration studies, database analysis, evidenced-based medicine, clinical policy, etc. Identifies areas where additional research is needed to support the safe and effective use of Company products. Provide support to Investigator Initiated Trials in accordance with Company policies. Prepares educational materials and presentations to support internal and external training efforts related to Company products. Collaborates with Global Vigilance Department and Global Quality and Compliance Department with respect to product complaints Responds to unsolicited requests for off label product information in accordance with Company policies Serves as a subject matter expert to both internal and external groups and present where needed for activities such as (but not limited to) sales training, journal clubs, scientific exchange meetings, ad boards, consultancy meetings, etc. Internally there is interaction with staff and management of all local and regional internal departments including but not limited to Finance, Human Resources, Supply Chain Management, Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, and Quality and Vigilance as applicable as well as the Biosimilars business unit Externally there is interaction with health care practitioners, researchers, key opinion leaders and other stakeholders QUALIFICATIONS Ph.D., M.D., PharmD., or M.Sc. with extensive experience will be considered Minimum of 2 years working experience in the therapeutic area of interest Experience working in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred Must be bilingual - fluent in English & French (spoken & written) MORE ABOUT US As ONE team, the companies in the Fresenius Group are committed to providing lifesaving and life-changing healthcare solutions on a global scale.
