VCA Canada seeks a Veterinary Assistant for shifts lasting eight to twelve hours, including daytime, overnight, weekend, and holiday schedules. You will support patient comfort, maintain sanitary housing, welcome pet parents, and assist veterinary staff with tasks and treatments. The role also includes housekeeping responsibilities and opportunities to learn pet nutrition and updated medical office procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Feed and walk patients while offering gentle reassurance
- Keep animal housing clean, sanitary, and comfortable
- Create welcoming experiences for patients and pet parents
- Complete laundry, stocking, and pet area housekeeping
- Assist veterinary staff with tasks and treatments
Requirements:
- Excellent customer service skills with pets and pet parents
- Ability to put animals and people at ease
- Self-motivation and initiative when completing assigned duties
- Willingness to learn pet nutrition and veterinary services
- Availability for daytime, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts
