Senior Manager, Canadian Commercial GRM - Risk Modernization & Strategic Support (18-month contract) Join Scotiabank to execute the Continuous Change Cycle across Canadian Commercial Banking Credit Risk and lead a large‑scale transformation program. The role strengthens risk management, governance, controls, enhances operational efficiency and supports Global Risk Management’s strategic priorities. Responsibilities Champion a customer‑focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage wider Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. Complete Business Cases to obtain funding for initiatives in line with the Bank’s methodologies and processes. Maintain Policy, Systems, and Processes up to date and in line with industry best practices, advanced technology and regulatory requirements. Execute implementation of the New Operating Model for Canadian Commercial Banking Risk and the Global GRM Transformation Journey. Support stakeholders to maintain governance items such as Roles and Responsibilities for Commercial Banking Risk teams, Segment‑specific Policies and Process reviews, KPIs for Commercial Banking Risk teams and Risk Appetite Metrics for the segment, Service Level Agreements, Segmentation policy and management and effective communication between risk stakeholders. Plan and execute project activities, manage working groups and prepare validation packages for Quality Assurance and Internal Audit. Communicate project status and deliver SteerCo materials in support of each Transformation Initiative. Identify and implement improvement opportunities within Canadian Commercial Banking Risk, including technology modernization of commercial credit risk management. Track and manage strategic initiatives, support communication of the strategy and results, and engage relevant groups (e.g., GRM, Finance, HR, Executive Support). Ensure operations comply with Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct, Global Sales Principles, and sustain day‑to‑day business controls, including operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. Qualifications Post‑graduate or graduate education in business or related fields. Experience in credit risk management, portfolio management, corporate banking or knowledge of credit assessments, financial projections and credit documentation. Strong understanding of Commercial Banking processes, products and services, with working knowledge of systems and operating procedures. Analytical, negotiation, problem‑solving skills and sound judgment. Knowledge of AML, Higher Risk Client and KYC requirements. Demonstrated ability to implement strategies, roadmaps and business cases with superior risk assessment and analytical skills. Superior accounting and financial analysis skills. Good understanding of commercial management systems. Superior communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
