Develop CADMATIC modeling and drafting skills as a fully on-site Detail Design Outfitting Intern with Seaspan Shipyards in North Vancouver.
This internship supports shipbuilding design and engineering for Multi-Purpose Vessels, the Polar Icebreaker, and future projects. You will work with designers and engineers on 3D models, production drawings, design standards, and documentation. The placement provides practical marine design experience within a multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and update CADMATIC 3D models with design teams
- Create, revise, and maintain production drawings and guidelines
- Prepare material take-offs, quantity reports, and documentation
- Verify drawing and model accuracy against design guidelines
- Maintain organized project documentation and records
Requirements:
- Pursuing an engineering, design, or related diploma or degree
- Basic understanding of engineering drawings and 3D modeling
- Familiarity with CADMATIC, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or CATIA
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Microsoft Office proficiency, particularly Excel
Build marine drafting experience through CADMATIC modeling, production drawings, and engineering documentation at Seaspan Shipyards.
