Overview Engineer, Transmission and Distribution Lines at BBA Consultants. Our Transmission and Distribution Lines team is spread across Canada, mainly in Mont‑Saint‑Hilaire (head office), Toronto and Calgary. Our multidisciplinary team comprises specialized engineers, technicians and support staff and includes professionals from junior to expert levels. Our clients operate mainly in the heavy industry and private sectors, both in Canada and abroad. This is a regular position. Responsibilities Design transmission and distribution lines Supervise the work of engineers, technicians and drafters and provide technical support Act as technical project manager to deliver projects on time, on budget and up to quality standards Develop line layouts Draft and manage engineering documents for transmission and distribution line projects (from 5 kV to 765 kV) Prepare and optimize PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE models Design support structures and foundations for transmission and distribution lines Select the required components: insulators, hardware, conductors and structures Take the lead in preparing proposals, studies, cost estimates, reports, and plans and specifications Help inspect existing lines and prepare inspection reports Qualifications and Requirements Bachelor’s degree in civil or electrical engineering At least 10 years of experience with transmission and distribution lines Relevant structural experience Technical writing skills Knowledge of the PLS-CADD suite Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec Advanced level of English to collaborate effectively with BBA offices and/or clients outside Québec What We Offer Annual base salary between 100,400 - 160,000 Annual premium program for all regular employees Onsite mobility premium Access to a time bank Cellphone program Group insurance plan from day one, including short-term and long-term disability insurance and a telemedicine program Retirement savings plan Vacation and sick leave Premium offered through the Employee Referral program About BBA BBA is one of Canada’s leading private consulting engineering firms, with over 45 years of experience serving the energy and natural resources industry.
