Build heavy vehicle engineering skills with Volvo Truck & Bus as an Apprentice HGV Technician, learning repairs, servicing, and fault diagnosis.
This Level 3 apprenticeship combines workplace training with block release at Inspiro’s Heavy Vehicle Academy in Derby. You will work alongside qualified technicians on modern trucks, buses, and coaches, including hybrid technology. The 32-month programme includes 16 blocks, virtual classes, and practical learning. You will develop skills using Volvo special tools, following warranty procedures, and fitting correct replacement parts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with repairs using Volvo Standard Times and special tools
- Support fault diagnosis and report vehicle defects
- Work with parts teams to fit correct replacement parts
- Complete job cards and follow time recording procedures
- Attend college and technical development training regularly
Requirements:
- Interest in trucks, buses, and heavy vehicles
- Willingness to learn mechanical repair and maintenance
- Ability to use Volvo special tools safely
- Commitment to attending courses and achieving required standards
- Willingness to wear personal protective equipment when required
Develop Volvo heavy vehicle repair, maintenance, and diagnostic skills through a structured Level 3 technician apprenticeship.
