Job Summary The Global Category Manager supports business units and stakeholders by leading strategic sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and supplier relationship management for a complex portfolio of services. The role creates value for stakeholders, reduces total cost of ownership, and mitigates risk through contract development. Responsibilities include developing short‑to‑medium‑term category plans, obtaining line‑of‑business buy‑in, and collaborating with managers, directors, officers, third‑party partners, and external suppliers. Job Responsibilities Category Planning Develop and drive 1–3 year Global Category Management Strategies focused on identifying and contracting with suppliers aligned to current and future business needs. Collect input of internal stakeholders’ needs and market knowledge. Maintain up‑to‑date Category Market Intelligence and supply‑market trends. Implement strategy and follow up on action items, reporting progress to the Associate Director, Indirect Procurement. Strategic Sourcing Prepare and execute category RFx packages and approaches. Hand over RFx execution to Global Indirect Sourcing Leads and ensure on‑time delivery. Analyze total cost of ownership structures and benchmarking data to improve cost modeling. Determine optimal negotiation/award alternatives and award goods or services packages to suppliers. Prepare business cases and secure support from senior leadership. Coordinate with Contract Specialists to facilitate timely contract execution. Develop implementation plans and seek approval for project savings and track negotiated savings. Business Partnering Build key relationships and act as a trusted advisor within business decision‑making and strategy development. Serve as the primary liaison between Procurement and senior business leadership. Translate business strategies and opportunities into sourcing opportunities. Collaborate with SRM Team Manage contracts and define appropriate actions and metrics. Identify supplier innovation and continuous improvement opportunities. Act as an escalation point and coordinate contract issues. Develop risk management and supply contingency plans. Other Duties Work safely and collaboratively to achieve outcomes. Manage multiple sourcing projects across geographies with strong communication and problem‑solving skills. Demonstrate Apotex organizational values: Collaboration, Courage, Perseverance, and Passion. Ensure compliance with all global ethics, quality, safety, environment, and HR policies. Perform additional duties as assigned. Job Requirements University graduate degree required; specialization in Operations Management, Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering with SCMP accreditation preferred. 7+ years of relevant global category management, strategic sourcing, or procurement lifecycle experience, including 5+ years in an indirect procurement function across various categories at a multinational corporation. 5+ years of in‑depth procurement best practices, including benchmarking, should‑cost models, RFX, and reverse auctions. Experience with contract law, goods and services lifecycle management. Strong supplier relationship management and presentation skills. Collaborative partner with demonstrated capability to work with business functions and internal stakeholders in a regulated environment. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Proficiency with SAP, Ariba, and other enterprise procurement systems, e‑sourcing, and contract management tools.
