Tax Manager: This is a rare opportunity to join a strong international tax team in a growing and dynamic business. As a tax manager, the core role will be to manage Canadian income tax and other Canadian tax functions for the Company, including Canadian income tax provision on a quarterly and annual basis and compliance work. This person will also assist in supporting Canadian income tax audit, indirect tax and other tax projects. This position reports to the Senior Manager – International Tax and will collaborate across tax teams to achieve the best result and gain exposure to other areas of tax. The Tax Manager will be part of a collaborative team with responsibility in Canadian income tax, transfer pricing, and international tax. The successful candidate will be able to expand the tax knowledge and experience in this role as well as develop skills in other areas of tax with room for upward and lateral mobility. The role will work closely with internal teams, including Finance, Legal, and Technology and will manage external tax advisors. What You’ll Do: Prepare quarterly and annual income tax provision Oversee Canadian tax compliance process Responsible for monthly tax reconciliation and instalment process Manage federal and provincial tax audits Ensure compliance with SOX and company policies for tax related matters Research and advise on Canadian tax matters Monitor and stay up to date on tax legislative and administrative updates Create and optimize complex financial models using excel and tax software Participate in ad hoc projects including tax due diligence and integration Assist with indirect or international tax projects as needed What You’ll Need: Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting Professional accounting designation or Master’s degree preferred 4+ years of relevant work experience Excellent analytical, financial accounting, and tax research skills Strong organizational and project management skills Detail-oriented and pay close attention to accuracy Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP or other reporting tools Experience with indirect tax preferred Where You'll Work: This is a hybrid-based role that can report out of the following location: Weston, ON What You Can Expect: Strong work/life flexibility To be surrounded by an inclusive team who is collaborative and committed to the achievement of the company To be rewarded for your contributions with a targeted annual company bonus and annual salary reviews Competitive pay and benefits Univar Solutions is a leading, global distributor of chemicals and ingredients essential to the safety, health, and well-being of our daily lives - from life-saving medicines and vitamins to hand sanitizers and industrial materials used for cleaning, construction, and more.
