Job Title Senior – Software Developer Department IT/ERP Reports To Software Developer Job Category Yearly Job Description Reporting to the Director, the Senior Software Developer role is responsible for designing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications. The role includes researching, designing, documenting, and modifying software specifications throughout the production lifecycle. Additionally, the developer must analyze and amend software errors in a timely and accurate fashion, providing status reports as required. Responsibilities Assist and guide other developers, analysts, and designers in conceptualizing and developing new software programs and applications. Plan stages of the software development life cycle (SDLC) for a variety of projects, including estimation, task breakdown, and technical approach. Prepare and document software requirements, technical specifications, and solution designs. Research and document user requirements to ensure solutions are practical and aligned with business needs. Support the Principal Solutions Architect by promoting agile methodologies, DevOps principles, and test‑driven development (TDD) and contributing to solution design and system architecture discussions. Conduct research on emerging tools, programming languages, and standards; evaluate and recommend frameworks, libraries, and platforms that improve reliability, performance, or developer productivity. Recommend, schedule, and implement software improvements and upgrades in line with architectural direction and business priorities. Support integration and adoption of cloud technologies (e.g., Azure, AWS) into enterprise solutions and contribute to deployment strategies, including CI/CD pipelines. Write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications, standards, and best practices. Run and monitor software performance tests, identify errors and performance bottlenecks, debug, and deliver robust, maintainable solutions. Generate statistical reports and prepare status updates on quality, performance, and delivery metrics. Assist in developing and maintaining user manuals, technical documentation, and guidelines. Install and configure software products for end users as required. Write programming scripts to enhance company website functionality or remove obsolete scripts. Liaise with network administrators, systems analysts, database administrators, and software engineers to resolve software product issues. Collaborate with database administrators on performance, schema usage, and query optimization from an application perspective. Provide guidance and mentoring to junior developers, including code reviews and technical coaching. Promote agile methodologies, DevOps principles, and TDD in day‑to‑day work. Skills and Qualifications Interest in the aerospace industry preferred. Technical knowledge of C# development, including ASP.NET Core, Razor Pages, or Blazor. Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. Familiarity with SQL databases and efficient query writing. Proficiency with Git and version control practices. Experience with enterprise applications such as SYSPRO or SAP is a plus. Willingness to learn and develop new skills and technologies. Ability to conduct research into software‑related issues and products. Ability to work independently and in a team‑oriented, collaborative environment.
