Job Title: Plant Accounting Manager

Our client, is a leading global manufacturing company based in Toronto, specializing in consumer packaged goods.


Position Overview:


We seek a highly skilled Plant Accounting Manager to join our client's finance team. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in accounting within the manufacturing industry. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Plant Accounting Manager will be crucial in coordinating monthly financial reporting and ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial reports and statements.


Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate monthly financial reporting process, including gathering data from various departments and preparing financial reports in accordance with company policies.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement and provide management insights.
  • Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Oversee inventory accounting processes, including valuation and reconciliation.
  • Monitor manufacturing costs and analyze variances against budget and forecast.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
  • Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff as needed.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and initiatives as directed by management.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA designation preferred.
  • 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience in manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
