This role involves conducting due diligence on customers identified by L1 analysts as having potential adverse or negative media. The analyst will assess the materiality of the findings and contribute to risk mitigation efforts. Responsibilities Conduct thorough due diligence and document findings in accordance with AML policies. Review and analyze PEP alerts escalated from L1 analysts. Determine whether the alert pertains to an existing customer. Assess whether the customer is a confirmed PEP. Escalate confirmed PEP matches for EDD to the appropriate line of business. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to elevate cases requiring further investigation. Focus on current alerts with no existing backlog. Conduct investigative analysis by collecting, assessing, and collating case file information for AML, Sanctions/ABAC & Financial Crime investigations. Conduct data analysis, manipulation and interpretation looking for patterns and anomalies. Initiate investigations and/or respond to emerging AML and Sanctions/ABAC risks. Assist with reviewing and investigating court orders (subpoenas) related to criminal actions. Assist and coordinate investigations with various law enforcement agencies as delegated. Prepare and deliver AML, Sanctions/ABAC & Financial Crime and/or fraud detection/loss prevention training or updates to Bank Employees or other agencies as assigned.
