Position Name - Data Governance Specialist Type of hiring - Fulltime/Subcon Location - Brampton, ON (4 days a week onsite & 100% onsite from Feb' 2026) Job Description: Data Governance Specialist - Collibra, Azure Databricks, Unity Catalog, Snowflake Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Specialist to design, implement, and manage enterprise data governance frameworks leveraging Collibra, Azure Databricks Unity Catalog, and Snowflake Catalog . The ideal candidate will ensure data quality, compliance, and accessibility across cloud and hybrid environments. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain data governance policies, standards, and workflows using Collibra. Implement data cataloging and lineage tracking in Azure Databricks Unity Catalog and Snowflake. Define and enforce data classification, security, and compliance controls. Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to ensure metadata management and data stewardship. Monitor and optimize data governance KPIs (data quality, usage, compliance). Support FinOps and cost optimization through governance-driven insights. Required Skills & Experience: Strong experience with Collibra Data Governance platform (policy management, workflows, stewardship). Hands-on expertise in Azure Databricks Unity Catalog (data lineage, access control). Proficiency in Snowflake Catalog and metadata management. Knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and compliance frameworks. Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and Data LakeHouse architectures. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications: Collibra Certified Professional or similar certification. Experience with data governance in multi-cloud environments. Understanding of FinOps principles and cost governance.
