Reports To: Design & Estimating Lead/Manager

 

Job Summary:

As a Design & Estimating Associate, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Design & Estimating team by engaging in the review of bid opportunities, performing specialized design functions using industry-standard software such as Mozaik, and preparing accurate estimates for project proposals. Your contributions will ensure that proposals are submitted and projects are executed accurately and in a timely manner.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Design & Estimating team to identify and assess bid opportunities, ensuring alignment with our capabilities and strategic goals.
  • Utilize cabinet configuration software (e.g., Mozaik) to perform design tasks efficiently and accurately, adhering to project specifications and industry standards.
  • Cooperate with the Department Lead/Manager to prepare detailed estimates for projects, including materials, labor, and other costs.
  • Participate in the development and refinement of design and estimating processes and tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Respond to change orders and project modifications by adjusting designs and estimates in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and clients to facilitate effective communication and project success.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, software updates, and best practices in design and estimating to continually enhance your skills and contributions to the team.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Design, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in design and estimating within the cabinet manufacturing, construction, or a related industry.
  • Proficiency in design software, specifically Mozaik or Microvellum.
  • Strong understanding of materials, construction processes, and project management principles.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail in both design and financial aspects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
