Cooking Naan:- Cook naan in a tandoor oven, ensuring it is properly baked, with the correct texture and color.- Monitor cooking times and adjust heat levels as necessary to achieve the desired results.- Ensure the naan is cooked evenly, with a soft, fluffy interior and slightly crisp exterior.
Flavouring and Serving:- Apply butter, garlic, or other toppings to naan bread as per customer or recipe specifications.- Assist with the preparation of various naan varieties such as garlic naan, butter naan, sesame naan, and plain naan.
Kitchen Maintenance:- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cooking area, including the tandoor oven and surrounding workspace.- Follow food safety guidelines and ensure that all ingredients are stored at the correct temperature.- Clean and sanitize cooking tools and equipment after each use.
Collaboration and Communication:- Work closely with the kitchen team to coordinate timing and ensure naan is ready for service in alignment with other dishes.- Communicate effectively with the kitchen staff to manage orders and ensure timely service.
Quality Control:- Regularly check the quality of naan bread before it is served to customers to ensure it meets the restaurant's standards.- Be attentive to customer feedback and adjust as necessary to improve the quality of naan.
Experience:- Previous experience in a kitchen, specifically in Indian or South Asian cuisine, is preferred. Experience with tandoor cooking is Mandatory.- Ability to handle a tandoor oven or similar cooking equipment.- Strong focus on consistency and quality in food preparation and presentation.- Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment.- Must be comfortable working with hot ovens and handling heavy kitchen equipment.- Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards, including proper handling, cooking, and storage of food.- Ability to work as part of a team, communicate effectively with colleagues, and follow instructions
