Senior Engineer

Engineering Link is growing its team. We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Building Envelope team. This role is exciting, diverse, and rewarding. This role is cornerstone to our day‑to‑day operations. It focuses on the building sciences aspects of consulting engineering and is responsible for overseeing small to large‑scale projects while providing a high level of service quality for the Building Envelope department. In this role, you will work closely with the existing Building Envelope leadership team to lead a wide variety of building projects and will lead the design of glass, windows, roofing, curtain wall, and thermal modelling for a wide variety of new construction, heritage, and other types of projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High level of proficiency with Microsoft Word and Bluebeam. Experience with Microsoft Excel is also a desirable skill. Responsibilities Operating independently in general day‑to‑day situations (Partners/Senior Associate/Associates involved only on more complex/sensitive projects). Evaluating and achieving client goals, as well as managing client’s expectations. Work with Partners to seek business development opportunities. Mentor team members and assist with their professional development. Reviewing all general project correspondence prior to issue. Critical/sensitive issues to be reviewed in conjunction with Partners/Senior Associate/Associates. Working independently and with other team members to conduct field reviews and preparing reports throughout construction. This will include monitoring progress according to specifications, conformity to building codes and standards, and preparation of site review reports. Visiting construction sites to review work that is in progress. This includes access to/climbing scaffolding and swing‑stages. Development of specifications and bid/drawing packages related to projects. Accepting responsibility for consistency, accuracy, and quality before presenting to the project team (internal and external). Accepting responsibility for delivering work within assigned project deadlines and assigned budgets. Qualifications Minimum 8 years’ relevant experience. Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in building science. Previous work experience in engineering consulting or construction (ideally, in a client‑facing role). Has a valid G driver’s licence.
