Staff Cyber Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) Engineer Manulife / John Hancock is looking for a highly skilled Security Analyst focused on vulnerability management, threat prioritization, and risk‑based decision‑making. Office location: Waterloo, ON (primary) or Toronto, ON or Boston, USA. Work arrangement: Hybrid – 3 days in office, 2 days from home. Remote option is not available. Position Responsibilities Lead the CTEM lifecycle, including identification, assessment, prioritization, and support remediation tracking and reporting. Utilize tools such as Avalor to perform scans and interpret results beyond surface‑level findings. Maintain risk‑based prioritization frameworks to ensure the most critical threats are addressed first. Translate technical vulnerabilities into business‑risk language for executive and stakeholder reporting. Integrate multiple data sources via APIs, ingesting and deconflicting data into a unified view. Demonstrate platform orchestration and automation experience. Monitor threat‑intelligence feeds, correlate with internal vulnerabilities, and assess impact. Develop metrics and dashboards to track vulnerability trends, configuration weaknesses, and remediation effectiveness. Act as the bridge between CTEM at Manulife and the cyber‑security, infrastructure, and management teams. Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and regulatory requirements. Required Qualifications At least 7 years of IT industry experience. 3–5+ years in cybersecurity, focusing on vulnerability management and threat analysis. Experience with the Avalor product line from Zscaler is highly desirable. Proficiency with Qualys or similar vulnerability scanning platforms. Strategic risk‑prioritization skills in complex environments. Familiarity with CVSS scoring, MITRE ATT&CK, and risk‑management frameworks. Experience with SIEM, threat‑intelligence platforms, and asset‑management tools is a plus. Excellent communication skills – ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
