Job Description The Wakaw/Cudworth Primary Health Care Centre is seeking a permanent full time family physician. The Primary Health Care team, consisting of physicians, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses, is available during the day on weekdays, with extended hours on Wednesday evenings until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday mornings from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Physicians and nurse practitioners rotate through the extended hours, each with equal participation. Currently 4 days per week of practitioner service is provided at the Cudworth Primary Health Centre. Practitioners work with managers to arrange the schedule, and serve long‑term care residents in Wakaw and Cudworth. A Collaborative Emergency Centre (CEC) was added to the Primary Health Centre in Wakaw and operates after clinic hours until midnight, seven days per week. The CEC team consists of advanced care paramedics, primary care paramedics, and off‑site medical physicians to ensure urgent emergency care is provided to the community. Qualifications Regular Saskatchewan medical licence Canadian residency status Eligibility for membership on the Saskatchewan Health Authority Practitioner Staff Benefits and Incentives New family physicians may qualify for $15,000 return‑for‑service incentive for signing on for 3 years Eligible for the Rural Physician Incentive Program, up to $200,000 Relocation Package This opportunity is eligible to receive the Rural Physician Incentive Program of up to $200,000. Additional Information Practise a few kilometres away from the beautiful Wakaw Lake Resort and Regional Park. Enjoy the 9‑hole challenging golf course, beach area, boating, fishing (perch, walleye, northern pike), mini‑golf, swimming, beach volleyball, paddle boats, canoes, playground, and summer activity program on the sandy beach. In winter, an hour’s drive brings you to an 8‑run ski resort with a terrain park. The Wakaw‑Cudworth area, with a population of 3,000, is centrally located in the province, less than an hour from Saskatoon and Prince Albert. The community boasts K‑12 schools, seasonal and year‑round recreational activities, a Primary Health Centre, CEC, 46‑bed long‑term care in Wakaw, 32‑bed in Cudworth, ambulance, therapies, mental health, home care, addictions, and public health services.
