Lead theatre programming in Red Deer with RDPS through producing, directing, workshops, and community engagement. This volunteer contract includes honoraria.
Red Deer Players Society seeks two to three creators for its Artist in Residence team. Artists may lead or contribute to seasonal projects, including new works, workshops, mentorships, and productions. The position connects artistic planning with operational and financial needs through collaboration with the Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create program offerings supporting the theatre’s artistic vision
- Propose and oversee a project and learning opportunity
- Build relationships with local artists and community members
- Align programming with budget and operational capabilities
- Represent the theatre through outreach and special events
Requirements:
- Experience directing, producing, or working in theatre arts
- Community theatre experience is an asset
- Leadership, communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills
- Knowledge of directing, casting, stagecraft, and technical elements
- Artist resume, bio, and one-to-two project pitch
Bring theatre production, creative leadership, and community engagement experience to Artist in Residence programming with RDPS.
