Location: Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, currently requiring employees to work in the office 2 days per week. Team and Job Overview: The Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) group, led by the Chief Information Officer, was established in 2023 to empower our customers and colleagues to take on the world by delivering secure and reliable digital experiences. Key objectives include defining and executing the integrated technology target state, managing the 3‑Year Digital Roadmap, keeping pace with industry trends, and leading integrated digital, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity implementations. We are looking for a results‑focused individual with strong interpersonal, influencing, and strategic thinking skills to turn EDC’s business objectives into industry‑standard, best‑practice enterprise‑aligned technology solutions. The role reports to the Director of Digital Delivery Marketing & Architects team. What You Will Be Doing: Interact with stakeholders to understand business needs. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including product owner, business lines, developers, analysts, and enterprise architects—and guide technology choices. Oversee the implementation and operationalization of end‑to‑end solutions. Diagnose complex problems and help solve them. Promote adoption of EDC architecture and cybersecurity principles. Provide impact analysis of technology on business processes, applications, and data. Design overall technological architecture of the product. Partner with the Tech Lead to guide software engineering practices. Develop architectural standards, principles, practices, and templates. Problem‑solve architectural questions to ensure consistent solutions. Remove technical impediments through hands‑on coding. Coach engineers and build reusable, scalable components. Align the roadmap with technical strengths and opportunities. Support product and delivery teams to meet objectives. Constantly seek better ways to solve technical problems. Engage the Enterprise Architect to ensure consistency. What We Are Looking For: Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field. Minimum 7 years of experience delivering IT solutions or as a Solution Architect. Strong understanding of modern ecosystem concepts: domain architecture, microservices, APIs, streaming, cloud technologies, real‑time dataflows, orchestration, DevOps. Strong ability to align organization on complex technical decisions. Experience in Agile Delivery with Solution Architect focus. Excellent analytical and decision‑making skills. Deep technical knowledge of architecture patterns and best practices. Experience managing technical priorities within the backlog. Excellent communication, strategic thinking, time management, and interpersonal skills. Strong stakeholder communication skills. High initiative and ownership. Ability to adapt in a fast‑paced environment. Collaborative mindset with problem‑solving attitude. What Will Make You Stand Out: Cloud Certification (Azure preferred). Experience with the Well‑Architected Framework. Experience in DevSecOps practices. Bilingual in both official languages (English and French).
