Overview Position Summary: Are you looking to join an established medical practice in a rural setting? Village Medical Clinic in 100 Mile House has a full-time opportunity. You may join with a colleague to set up in the same clinic, or as a husband and wife team relocating to work in the same clinic. One GP is leaving with a large practice and many physicians nearing retirement. The area is growing as more people move here from other areas of the province, and there is demand for a physician. Overheads are shared and in keeping with practices of this size – approximately 25%. In addition to clinic work, you would be required to provide service for approximately 6 twelve-hour shifts per month at the 100 Mile Hospital Emergency Room, located minutes from the clinic, as well as follow your own patients in hospital and residential care. Clinic colleagues cover each other’s patients when away. Currently, there is no anesthetist, and obstetric services are offered in Williams Lake. The hospital offers ER, general medical and outpatient care, X-ray and laboratory services. All specialty services are available, some up to 1 hour away in Williams Lake or two hours away in Kamloops. 100 Mile House and the surrounding area offer a wide variety of lifestyle activities for all seasons, including hiking, mountain biking, lakes, hunting, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Mt. Timothy ski hill is a popular winter destination about an hour away. The NAVIG8 program for leadership development is available through Interior Health for interested physicians.
