POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with a passion for education, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. This role is responsible for managing the non-clinical elements of the orientation program and overseeing the onboarding process for new employees. The primary focus will be on ensuring a seamless and successful onboarding experience for each new hire within the SDC/regional office by effectively handling logistics and administrative processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they have a positive and engaging orientation experience.

  • Monitor and evaluate overall satisfaction rates through surveys, collect required employment documents, and ensure new hires complete mandatory training modules.

  • Organize and manage the logistics for orientation days, including room setup, technology/hardware requirements, and necessary meeting supplies.

  • Develop and facilitate training sessions that foster a positive learning environment, encouraging active participation from all new staff.

  • Adapt training delivery methods to accommodate the diverse needs of participants.

  • Apply adult learning principles to facilitate engaging and effective training sessions.

  • Implement evaluation strategies to measure the success of training programs and ensure they meet set objectives and desired outcomes.

  • Act as a trusted advisor, liaising with both internal and external stakeholders, including local leadership and the orientation team, to communicate program results.

  • Offer recommendations to enhance the orientation process, including individual action plans and improvements to organization-wide materials.

  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and proactively manage any high-risk issues.

  • Lead by example, modeling positive behaviors and helping new hires integrate smoothly into the organization.

  • Analyze data reports on key orientation metrics such as training module completion, preceptor/joint visit hours, and new hire satisfaction levels.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with a wide range of individuals.

  • Prior experience in service coordination, administration, or a similar role is preferred.

  • A Bachelor's Degree in HR or a related field is preferred.

  • Experience in facilitating education programs or orientations is a plus.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint (intermediate level).

  • Experience in developing, implementing, and assessing quality improvement initiatives.

  • Flexibility and adaptability in training approaches and delivery.

  • Familiarity with adult learning principles and their practical application in training settings.

  • Proven ability to plan, organize, and execute programs or initiatives effectively.

  • IT proficiency, especially in mobility tools or experience in training for these systems.

  • Experience with Saint Elizabeth's internal systems or similar platforms is an asset.

  • Strong problem-solving and issue-resolution abilities.

  • Ability to build and sustain collaborative partnerships across teams and departments.

  • High energy and enthusiasm for facilitating a positive work environment.

The role is split between Ottawa and Kingston. You will be responsible to travel to both locations 1-2 times a week. Travel is paid to the location for one of these pending where the person is located.
